Why Essential Oils?

Essential oils are so much more than a good smell

As you inhale, essential oil molecules bind to receptor cites going to the limbic area of the brain which regulates: memory, emotions, and hormones. AMAZING!

So what are essential oils, you ask?

Essential oils are naturally occurring volatile aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers and other parts of plants. They are nature’s defense mechanism for plants and cells. Essential oils are organic for the plant and us, the part of the plant we get essential oils from is the part that protects and fixes the plant, and it also protects and fixes us. 

We've collaborate with our friend Ashley Kema, founder of Gold Drop Society–to create handcrafted natural candles in a few of her popular essential oil blends. The collaboration was born from an idea to combine our love of candles and essential oils to create a safe, environmentally friendly and aromatherapeutic relaxation product. 

At Jules + Gem Hawai‘i, we use fragrance oils, which are different from essential oils. Essential oils have their own unique benefits and are 100% natural and safe solutions to everyday issues such as:
